Ok, so this morning, I made good on my word to take my fat dog for a walk. It was substantially easier than it used to be, because he got fat. He is a bassett, so he loves to sniff and pee and it used to feel like I was walking an anaconda. But not today. He was wheezing between sniffs and walking at a new, reasonable pace. I also took two kids with me so that we wouldn't go fast. They are like my handicaps, in the sweetest sense. Also, I made plans with my friend Laurie to go walking tomorrow. She wanted to run, but I am dragging her down to a walk. She seems ambitious and she was a great runner when we trained for our race, so maybe I should bring some kids or a fat dog.

Slow and steady wins the race.
Or something lame like that.

Well, I'm excited Michelle. Do we have a date for this thing we're training for anyway?

Laurie, I will have to choose a race that is pretty far out to make sure I am injury free. I was thinking early summer. What do you think?

hey friend, if you need another excuse to go slowly, I would love to walk with you and I cannot walk fast as my heart cannot take it! BUT I WANT TO EXERCISE TOO!!! Nothing like your cardiologist telling you to exercise, but take it way slow and to watch it because your heart cannot take too much!! call me too!!
